Garden, Pool & Vineyard
Over the years, the garden at Casa Monteverdi has become an essential part of the experience. We have always loved natural gardens with rolling lawns, colourful flowers, fruit trees, herbs and native plants. Our passion for Piedmont, together with the inspiring stories of local winemakers, also sparked a new interest: creating our own vineyard and kitchen garden.
Respecting the Landscape
Together with our Italian landscape architect, Silvia Delpiano, we redesigned the garden with one guiding principle: to preserve and enhance the natural character of the surrounding landscape.
The views across the neighbouring vineyards were fully restored, an old vineyard was replaced with new vines, and the former wilderness behind the Bar-Pizzeria was transformed into a spacious lawn for relaxation and play. Characteristic Langa stone steps lead down to the orchard, the hazelnut grove and several terraces, each offering its own beautiful view across the Monferrato countryside.
The garden continues to evolve. In 2026, the entire irrigation system was renewed with a new 10,000-litre water reservoir. Sadly, our small Barbera vineyard was affected by Flavescenza Dorata. A young Nebbiolo vineyard has now been planted in its place and will become an increasingly beautiful part of Casa Monteverdi in the years ahead.
Pool & Water Well
The swimming pool is the focal point of the rear garden, surrounded by a spacious sunbathing lawn with plenty of room to relax. In the evenings, subtle lighting and the fire bowl create a warm and inviting atmosphere.
To maintain the garden, we make use of a 28-metre-deep water well, rainwater harvesting and our renewed irrigation system. The pool is maintained using modern salt electrolysis, in which a small amount of salt is converted into natural chlorine. The result is crystal-clear, soft water with a light mineral feel that is gentle on both skin and eyes.
